Pune Accident: Jejuri-Morgaon Road Crash 8 Dead, 4 Injured

Pune Accident: On the evening of 18 June 2025, a tragic accident on Jejuri-Morgaon Road took place in Pune district of Maharashtra, which shook the entire area. The accident occurred near Shriram Dhaba, located on Jejuri-Morgaon Road, at around 6:45 PM. A total of 8 people died on the spot in this accident, including 7 men and 1 woman. At the same time, a Swift Dzire car came at a dangerously high speed and hit him from behind. The sudden and severe collision took everyone by surprise, leaving no time to escape.

The car did not stop after the initial collision. Due to its excessive speed, it continued to move uncontrollably and collided with a group of people standing on the roadside. The collision was extremely severe, resulting in the tragic death of eight people on the spot. Identification of the Deceased

The people who died in this horrific accident include Somnath Ramchandra (owner of Shriram Dhaba), Ramu Sanjeevani Yadav, Ajay Kumar Chavan, Ajit Ashok Jadhav, Kiran Bharat Raut (resident: Pawarwadi), Ashwini Santosh, Akshay Raut and an unidentified man (whose identity is not known yet).

All these bodies have been sent to Jejuri Rural Hospital for post-mortem.

The next of kin of each deceased will be given financial assistance of ₹2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF). The injured will be given a compensation of ₹50,000.

Officers of the Jejuri police station are investigating the matter thoroughly. Initial investigations have revealed that the main cause of the accident is the negligence of the speeding car. Efforts are also being made to find out whether the driver was drunk or not, and whether there was any technical fault in the vehicle.

The police have seized the car, and a case has been registered against the driver under serious sections. Efforts are on to identify and arrest the driver involved in the accident.
