Operation Sindoor: Day-Wise What Happened Between India-Pakistan Conflict

Operation Sindoor is the name of a major military operation to be launched in May 2025 between India and Pakistan, which India launched in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April 2025. 26 Hindu pilgrims were killed in this attack and the responsibility for this was taken by The Resistance Front, an organization associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba. This attack was a direct attack on the religious and cultural heritage of India, which caused a wave of anger across the country.

Operation Sindoor: Situation

Operation Sindoor

The Indian government described this attack as a ‘terrorist attack targeting Hindu pilgrims’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi termed it a ‘direct attack on national security’ and directed the Indian security forces that such attacks would be responded to strictly. After this, the Indian Army planned Operation Sindoor in response to this attack, which was a decisive military action against terrorism.

Operation Sindoor: Key Points

The choice of the word Sindoor was symbolic, signifying the marital mark of Hindu women. The pilgrims killed in the Pahalgam attack were mostly married men, whose wives had become widows. Through this naming, India made its resolve and strong intention clear against terrorism. This name was a symbol of the fact that the fight against terrorism is not just a military struggle, but a cultural and national struggle, in which India fully understands its responsibility towards the safety of every woman and family.

Total Data (7–10 May 2025)

Operation Sindoor

Ceasefire

Operation Sindoor

On 10 May 2025, India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire under the mediation of the US. This ceasefire was to reduce tensions on the border. Military representatives of both countries promised not to attack each other and maintain peace. However, just a few hours later, both countries accused each other of ceasefire violations. Pakistan accused India of shelling, while India accused Pakistan of sniper attacks. In this way, the ceasefire could not be fully followed.

Current situation

As of 11 May 2025, tension remains between the two countries. India called “Operation Sindoor” a success and has increased security on the border. At the same time, Pakistan has ordered its army to be fully prepared. Although there are hopes of peace between the two countries, the situation is still sensitive and the role of the international community will remain important.
