Rajasthan Jaisalmer Bus Accident: Around 56 was on board, 20 people have died and 16 people are injured, Full Details

Today, on October 14, at around 3:30 pm, a private bus going from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur caught fire near Thaiyat village on the Jaisalmer Jodhpur highway.

Around 57 passengers wad traveling on the bus. when the smoke was reported, The driver attempted to stop the bus on the roadside as soon as he saw the smoke but the fire quickly engulfed the entire vehicle.

All Locals and nearby residents immediately arrived and began rescue and relief efforts. The fire depart. and police were notified of the incident and arrived at the scene. The burned bus was completely damaged.

Possible Causes

As Investigations reports the bus to catch fir due to a short circuit or overheating of the engine, leading to the accident.

And The bus is to be very new and was purchased about five days ago. Further investigations are underway by the state police, forensic team, and fire depart.

Dead and Injured

According to primarily reports, 20 people have died. Around 16 people, including women and children, have suffered critical burn injuries.

All people Identification of the deceased has been difficult due to the extensive burns suffered by some of the victims. Therefore, death peoples identification will be determined through DNA matching.

After accident all injured people were initially taken to Jawahar Hospital in Jaisalmer. where they received first aid, and the more serious cases were referred to Jodhpur.

Administrative Actions and Investigation

Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma immediately reached to Jaisalmer after learn of the incident. The state govt has announced compensation for the families of the deceased.

And the Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow over the accident and announced a compensation of ₹2 lakh for each of the deceased. ₹50,000 has been announced for the injured.

Also District Collector Pratap Singh immediately directed officials to provide the best possible medical care to the injured. Helpline numbers were issued to provide assistance to the families of the deceased and injured.
